Dudley Promise Corps

An AmeriCorps program where corps members serve at DSA or Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School providing academic and socio-emotional support to students. It is a year long, full-time program with a stipend, flexible schedule, and an educational award upon completion. Great option for those interested in education field. Police Cadet Program

A two-year program for those interested in joining the Boston Police. Cadets recieve on the job training, learning about the Boston Police and assisting with their day-to-day operations. Program graduates, if successfully passed Civil Service Exam, receive preference on the list of candidates for an incoming police recruit class. Driver's license required. See here for further info.

Boston Teacher Residency

An AmeriCorps training program for those interested in becoming teachers in BPS. Residents spend a year serving in schools, gaining first-hand experience while working on their graduate coursework at UMass Boston. A stipend is provided. Upon completion, residents will have earned their teaching license and a Master's in education. Program cost is waived after 3 years teaching in BPS. BPS - ESOL Para and Hospitality Management

BPS is running two 15-week programs for adult English language learners at an intermediate speaking proficiency. The programs are designed for people interested in gaining the skills and knowledge to work as a K-12 teaching assistant (paraprofessional) in BPS or who would like to work in the hospitality industry.
